Which health screenings are recommended?

Health is defined as a state where the body and society are completely healthy, and there is just no disease. Screening refers to the use of typical and inexpensive diagnostic tests to examine a group of asymptomatic people for high-probability diseases. Screening tests classify healthy people who may have the disease from those who do not. Through early detection of selected diseases or conditions, health screening is effective even if there are no symptoms or signs of the disease. Early detection of the disease means receiving the right treatment at the right time, allowing patients to better control their health.

In the 1940s, mass microradiography (MMR) demonstrated the benefits of disease detection to identify patients with tuberculosis (TB). The effective treatment of tuberculosis was introduced at the height of the Second World War, so the use of MMR became common in many western countries, showing advantages. Therefore, it is important to evaluate people every day.

For people under the age of 30, it is recommended to have a medical check-up every two years. However, for people aged 30 and over, it is highly recommended to get a medical checkup every year. For people over the age of 50, more age-related screenings will be done.

A common test usually performed during a health check. These are the tests that are performed during the medical check-up. The first is the cholesterol test, if the patient is obese, can be a smoker or drink alcohol frequently, the doctor will monitor the cholesterol level of the patient. The next item is a vital signs test, which is usually one of the most important tests a doctor performs. If the vital signs are high, further testing can be done to determine the cause. The third type is mammography, osteoporosis, and cervical smears. These tests are performed to prevent cervical and breast cancer and other diseases that affect women.

In addition, diabetes testing will also be conducted, and if patients need a history of high cholesterol and high vital signs, they can also be screened for diabetes. For sexually active people, they can be used as STD tests, especially when there is a sexual partner, STD tests are strongly recommended. On the other hand, prostate adenocarcinoma tests are also performed. If men are obese, have high testosterone levels, and/or are over 50 years old, they should be tested for prostate adenocarcinoma. Finally, colorectal cancer, this test is highly recommended for people over 50 years of age, with inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal polyps and genetic mutations or congenital defects.

Aa health check generally takes half an hour to half an hour every day. It depends on the percentage of tests that the doctor must perform. Other common tests include X-rays, blood tests, stool tests, and urinalysis. Early detection of illness or disease can help prevent the development of chronic diseases. In addition, complications can be avoided through health checks.
