2021 Jeep Compass facelift unveiled

Ever since its launch in the Indian market, the Jeep Compass has sold in ridiculously large numbers, and thanks to its spot-on pricing, the Indian audience has taken a very strong looking to the product. Jeep, as a brand, was non-existent for years together, but thanks to its great engine and gearbox combinations, the convenience of an automatic gearbox and strong power delivery, it has managed to grip the market. For 2021, Jeep has now revealed the Compass facelift that features a reworked exterior and a revised interior.

The changes are visible

Looking at it in these pictures, the new Compass facelift receives redesigned headlight clusters with LED DRLs incorporated, flanked by a honeycomb-like elements on the seven-slat chrome grille, a heavily restructured front bumper that boasts of a huge air dam spread across with fog lamps placed on either sides. Along the sides, it gets new alloy wheel patterns and a new faux skid plate at the front. The rest of the SUV remains the same and gets LED tail lamps and faux rear skid plate.

A new cabin too

The cabin of the new Jeep cars facelift features a floating 10.1-inch touchscreen placed in the middle, under which you will find slender AC vents and HVAC controls. The touchscreen unit will feature FCA’s UConnect 5 infotainment system which will have Amazon Alexa support, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, along with over-the-air updates. And the dashboard sports double-stitched leather inserts and brushed aluminium trim. The three spoke steering is new and there’s even a fully-digital instrument cluster. Then of course, there are the dull grey leather seats and the panoramic sunroof.

The Trailhawk treatment

Even the Trailhawk version of the Compass gets all-important updates, that include a redesigned front bumper, a smoked-out grille, black and red graphics on the bonnet, Trailhawk badges all around and red tow hooks at the front and rear. The alloy wheels on this one are different too.

Coming soon

The arrival of the new Compass facelift is expected sometime next year, while production will start by the end of this year, since all the right-hand-drive models that have to be exported will be manufactured at their production facility in Maharashtra. The Compass will continue to be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine and a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine, with both being paired to a 6-speed manual, while the petrol model will get a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and the diesel model will come equipped with a 9-speed torque converter. The new Compass will rival the likes of the Volkswagen T-Roc and Skoda’s Karoq.  Also, grab the latest info on the new cars, only at autoX.
