What do you do with turkey giblets – So wondering what on earth to do with turkey giblets? Read on for my ideas…. I can’t guarantee you will be fully on board though…
What do you do with turkey giblets
Heart, gizzard, liver and other visceral organs make up that bag stuffed inside the bird. Yes, these are the giblets and many people throw them away because they have no idea what to do with them.
Here is what I think should be done.
You have your lovely big turkey. That crazy big bird that was once running around (or maybe stuffed in a dark coop, no way to move amongst the other turkey, no access to proper turkey food and miserable conditions) is in front of you. You know how to cook turkey right? Get it near to perfection and always think… hmmm, it’s nice but not quite as good as chicken!
Cook your turkey as normal, devour it and savor the taste of the dead flesh. Really get into it, screw the formalities, the knifes and forks, actually screw the cooking, just eat the flesh raw, blood and all, come on you know you can (but don’t blame me if you get sick…. raw turkey will give you food poisoning!).
Now, you have your lovely bloody bag of giblets. Take them out, slop them over the table, over the fridge, get their gooey contents into every corner of your home.
Wait… wait some more, start to live with the smell. Start to think about what these giblets are, they are the stinking rotting insides of a once living animal that you needlessly and greedily consumed. A life lost for your pleasure.
Hang those giblets above your computer, look at them , wonder if your insides look similar. Think about what eating meat be in bird or beast is and maybe, just maybe, consider eating it a little less.
That is my advice!
…. And yes, I am vegan.
