A few days ago I was talking to one of the people in my house about an English artist that I had see on her iPod play list.
She is Canadian and I was surprised she had heard of the artist…. she then happened to mention to that he was actually playing that night in Montreal.
So in an impulse I went to see him in a very small venue….. before I continue here is a great song of his to enjoy.
Scroobius Pip and Dan Le Sac are a pair of interesting artists that have formed a poetry and indie beats based hip hop act. Bringing thoughtful, meaningful and extremely non commercial hip hop lyrics into our lives.
I found out they had been signed to the record label of Sage Francis a great Hip Hop start who pushes a similar message and I was lucky enough to find out and learn about two other great things related to the Strange Famous record label.
One thing was B. Dolan…. an angry, and hilarious (all at the same time) seasoned professional that spat out thoughtful lyrics and jumped a monitor speaker dressed as Evil Kinevil to the music of Eye of the Tiger…. yes it was well worth seeing!
The other thing was something that I feel is very very important. It’s a website that was set up by B.Dolan and Sage Francis to give us consumers access to vital information about the moral standing of many of the biggest brands. Brands are rated on their human rights and every aspect of their business.
