The Cheapest Laptop Sleeve Ever!

If you are like me and keep your laptop in your back pack then you know how smashed and scratched it can become.

I knew that I needed a protective laptop sleeve for my poor little battered Macbook so decided to see what was available.

Looking through the tons of fancy neoprene, aluminum and what ever else sleeves I kind of felt like they were not worth the money. Not for my needs anyway!

So inspired by the recent Macbook Air campaign I decided to see if my Macbook would fit inside an envelope.

I went into the Post Office and looked over the various protective envelopes on sale. Originally I purchased a padded paper envelope but that only lasted a few days so I went back and purchased the deluxe model. A nice shiny plastic, tear resistant, bubble wrap padded envelope that is perfectly sized for my little laptop. They have many sizes suitable for many laptops too!And mine only cost me$2.25 with tax. I think you will agree that is cheap and it is as protective as any neoprene sleeve.

A funny thing also happened when I was buying the funky new sleeve. I took my plastic envelope up to the Post Office counter, I took out my laptop to test the size. In a hilarious moment of misunderstanding the lady behind the counter proclaimed “Are you not scared of breaking your laptop”. I said, “Yes that’s why am buying it!”. I felt bad for being cheeky so had to explain to her that I wanted it to protect my laptop in my back pack. I can’t believe she thought I was going to post it.

Good idea. Inexpensive is good. I followed you over to your blog from Garry Conn’s site. I’m even newer than you. Don’t beat yourself up to bad. Your site looks ok. Check mine out, then you’ll feel better about yours. “)

  2. Absolutely brilliant! As a former full-time eBay seller I’ve always had various shipping supplies cluttering up my home. Their presence has inspired many unique uses for them, but this never crossed my mind!

I personally think it’s a great idea! I’m always amazed at how much they ask for actual laptop accessories when there are so many products out there, like your envelope, that will work just as well.
