So what on earth is going on? This finger fakery seems to be done out of some kind of humanity or maybe he was being paid! The Brazillian doc was caught punching in for other staf members using finger prints laid into fake silicon fingers to show them doing shifts they didn’t turn up for!
The scam seems to involve 11 docs and 20 nurses who have been shown appearing for 5 night shifts per month instead of the one they have really been doing!
Doctor Thauane Nunes Ferreira, who was detained and is now released, confessed when caught at Ferraz Vasconcelos Hospital in Sao Paulo. She also said the director was in on the act being paid $2,400 per month by staff to participate.

This odd scheme to get workers more hours is obviously not good but it’s not the worst that such a flaw could be used for. Now the idea is out there I am sure many criminals will be masterminding ways they can use fake fingers to enter secure places. I’m not sure, and it isn’t clear, if this kind of forgery can be used to fool finger print locks.
