Olympic Volleyball Court Taken Over by Squirrels - It seems some rodents have been enjoying the Olympics’ chaos more than others.

It was discovered last week that London squirrels had been using the sandy volleyball pitch in Horse Guards Parade as a place to hide their nuts.

Olympic athletes practicing before the games noticed that the sand beneath their feet felt awfully bumpy. Upon further investigation, it was found that the entire designated sporting area was riddled with acorns. Squirrels had been gathering their delicious treasures in St. James Park and then burying them on the volleyball court.

Officials were forced to spend all of Friday afternoon digging and clearing away the squirrels’ hidden stash. They’re doing everything they can from now on to discourage any more squirrel mischief on the court.
