Obama Recreational Marijuana – In a recent statement, President Obama has said that the recent “recreational marijuana” legalized in Colorado and Washington is not a top priority for the Federal Government. Why? Because with limited federal resources and the shifting attitude about the substance.

In an interview with ABC News last week, the President stated:

“It does not make sense from a prioritization point of view for us to focus on recreational drug users in a state that has already said that under state law that’s legal. 

At this point (in) Washington and Colorado, you’ve seen the voters speak on this issue. And, as it is, the federal government has a lot to do when it comes to criminal prosecutions.”

Obama probably also feels that the amount of money it takes to enforce marijuana laws is not in our budget right now. According to the Huffington Post, 300 economists recently released a report that proved $13.7 billion would be saved every year if recreational marijuana was legalized. That’s also not considering how much money in profit could be made selling it as a taxed product.
