Music, Random & Personal

Whilst traveling from the UK to the USA, to Canada back to the UK, then back to Canada, USA and finally back to Canada over the last few months, music has been something I have only really listened to when the control ha been in the hands of others. Most of the time it has been in bars and restaurants and more recently my new job.

For some reason I never did get round to putting music I wanted onto my laptop before traveling and the battery on my antique 3rd Gen iPod is only working for about half and hour so I have abandoned use of it for now.
Spurred on by hearing some old music I love at work I have been thinking about music over the last few days and have realized that where it was once an essential part of my life I have let it slip down the rankings. It’s really happened over the last two or three years and I think I need to attempt to reverse the situation and put it’s importance at the top of the table once again.

I feel very behind in what’s going on in popular and alternative musics and am almost at the point where the only musical conversations that I can join in involve artists that the youth of this world would consider OLD!

Why is this happening to me?

I always prided myself on knowing what was going on in at least the alternative rock culture and even though not always identifying with bands and fashions I would at least accept that it was a good thing and that trends in music would always bring about new and innovative sounds.
