Larry Page’s Plans for Google - Larry Page declared his plans for Google’s future were no longer about being just a search engine but more about “driving technology forward”.
Larry Page’s Plans for Google
In his exact words, Page planned to:
“…invent wild things that will help humanity, get them adopted by users, profit, and then use the corporate structure to keep inventing new things.”
On his agenda:
- Producing a good Android tablet
- Buying a pay TV service
- Purchasing video content like Hulu
- Creating an affordable Android phone
- Opening Retail stores
- Putting Google + Everywhere
- An enterprise push
- Free Chromebooks
- Creating Self-Driving Cars
- Putting Out More Ad campaigns
It looks like Larry Page is really reaching out of the Google comfort zone in an attempt to make the company some sort of superforce to be reckoned with. In a way it could be too much– shouldn’t a company take it one step at a time? When looking at the Apple model, one could argue that doing one thing “the best” is better than doing a dozen things just ok.
