Lady Gaga concert lawsuit – After calling off a concert due to threats from fundamentalist protesters in Jakrta the concert organisers are launching a lawsuit! Luckily it’s not directly at Gaga herself.
Lady Gaga concert lawsuit
Lady Gaga was due to play Jakarta on 3rd June 2012 and fundamentalist protesters threatened to her if she came. Like any sensible person she cancelled the show.
Of course it’s not like if you or I cancelled a trip and a lot of money was lost as a result. So the promoters are taking legal action against the insurance company Lloyds of London claiming they did not pay out on a policy that was supposed to cover this situation.
They are looking for “£47,000 to cover the losses” according to an article from the Express.
This situation really sucks! I don’t blame Gaga for cancelling in the slightest and I am sure the promoters don’t either. A person, famous or not, must look out for their own safety first and foremost. Now insurance is supposed to serve a purpose and covering this loss is why you pay for them in the first place! Surely £47,000 is throwaway money for them and they will just pay out without too much of a fight and retain their integrity as insurance providers for such events!
