So how do you care for these giants.
Long haired they need regular cleaning and grooming, like most dogs and vets who are familiar with wolfhounds are ideal. They can suffer from cancers which can help be prevented by neutering and spading the dogs and have issues with eyesight which regular checkups can help with.
Training should be firm but friendly and early socialising is needed to ensure this friendly but protective dog wn’t throw it’s weight around too much or cause problems with others pets or the people themselves. This is often loyalty related so much of this stems back to that.
They are lovely animals and you can have a great pet from them. I say only take them on as a rescue but many do buy them as pups and they can cost around $2200.
