As for Big O winning. I am very pleased! The source of this issue can be argued and argued but I think us normal folks will never know the whole story. Repuplicans and Democrats on our level are just people at the end of the day. I feel like Obama realizes that it is important to be bipartisan on as many subjects as he can…. let’s hope this happens.

I actually liked McCain for the most part. I felt his choice in Sarah was ridiculous and was going to push back woman’s rights not bring them forward!! However if Obama chooses McCain for a position I would be more than happy for McCain to accept, I think he has a lot to bring to the USA.

For me I would love to see McCain, Obama and Hilary all working together in some way. The country needs to overcome these hard times and teamwork is definitely a good way for this to happen.

Anyway, the Big O won so you must be happy. Of course much of the current financial mess was not caused by Republicans, but oh well.

Four years from now Obama will face a fate similar to Jimmy Carter’s. And for a guy that claims to want change why is most of his current staff picks old time democrats. That doesn’t sound much like change.

I will say as a Republican, I did like Sarah. She was a real person, not someone that is too far removed from how real people live.

I will also say, I’m completely amiss about all of the bail-outs and true Republicans would have just said No.

I agree this could be harmful but this is my personal space and I feel it’s fine to have a voice that is political or religious or whatever I want it to be.

This site makes me a tiny amount of money but it’s not my business blog as such and I don’t cocentrate too much on finding readers and such.

I just wish everyone in this country could see our political process through the eyes of someone not native to the US. Maybe then they would understand the incredible privilege we have and take it seriously enough to really research the candidates – and I don’t mean just watch the debates or visit their websites (although that’s a good start.)

When you see a negative ad about a candidate, don’t just take the claim at face value – LOOK IT UP! Quite honestly, the Republicans count on their constituents being less educated and thus less informed. That is their base. Don’t believe me? LOOK IT UP!

McCain/Palin polls highest among people with no secondary education beyond high school. And those are the very people who are hurt most by Republican policies that favor big business and trickle-down economics.

It is so frustrating – I hope today brings the real change we need. If not, I may be joining you in the UK for awhile.
