How to get £50 free Microsoft Ad Center credit…

I have recently been playing around with Adwords and am having trouble with high keyword costs and various other problems including many keywords becoming inactive without explanation.

So I decided to take a look at other PPC ad networks to see if they can provide me with a similar service and cheaper costs for similar clicks.

First up for me is Microsoft Ad Center. In one of my previous posts Webdiggin had mentioned that I could get some free credit codes if I was from the US or Canada but this was not helpful for me as my account needed to be set up in the UK.

Looking through Google, various forums and actually trying some US codes on sign up I could not find a way to get free UK credit.

So I gave them a call on 0800 633 5915. A friendly voice answered and I said something like;

“I am in the process of signing up for Ad Center but would like to try out the service without any cost to me. Do you have any promotional codes available for UK customers?”

I thought they would say no but low and behold she held on the phone whilst I finished signing up and then credited my account with £50. That’s higher than the $75 US coupons that I could find on the net so I am very happy.

Now I guess they may get sick of this if too many people call so you might as well give it a go ASAP.

I’ll let you know what I think of Microsoft Ad Center in a few days.

Good luck, let me know if it works out for you.

    Good on ya. 50 quid. Nice. That’s like, what… $3000 Canadian? ($2999 USD?)

    I was surprised when they could come up with a coupon code for Canada when I called their number.

    Let us know if you’re able to get MSN working for you. We tried a few different ads, but they kept on getting rejected because of branding issues (I think). We have a few other projects on the go, so we haven’t had a chance to sink our teeth into MSN, but we’ll get back to it.

    (Maybe sooner, if Microsoft buys out Yahoo)

    Hi,

    I tried ringing that number and spoke to Rob Davis – they said they weren’t doing any promotions at the time. What he did say was that he would waive the £5 sign up fee (or credit that back to me). He was a nice guy on the phone – i also asked a few other questions – if you notice the signup fee is either $5 or £5 – if you are from the uK don’t click the $5 option unless you have a dollar account (which i doubt most uk people will have) as you won’t save money in the long run as the charges for conversion will bite you bum!

  5. Hey – now that Yahoo and MSN/Bing are merging I think Ad Center will finally be worth using! (Though I rang them and they said that it could me 8 months or more before you can display your MSN adverts on Yahoo without having to set up separate PPC accounts..!)
