Does being a mother make you happier – Motherhood is supposed to be the ultimate happiness, the one thing a woman lives for but if you bank all your happiness on the kid things may not work out quite that way!

Mothers day is coming, time for kids to show appreciation to their hard working moms, time to bring them breakfast in bed, tell them to relax and get them off their feet for a day. Motherhood can be extremely hard work, stressful, full of worry but on the flip-side many moms wouldn’t have it any other way.
Children certainly can bring joy to a life and nurturing your children for some is the ultimate goal in life. However kids don’t fix all life problems and banking happiness on kids may not be a great idea at all!
Happiness is something that is hard to gauge and in some people it’s something that just won’t come if things are not fixed. Having children simply won’t fix that.
In fact I believe the complete happiness of children will come if you are already happy. Starting off happy will have you in the right mindset to get happier.

Sadly many people use children as a way to try and fix failing marriage or relationship issues. Kids should never be used for this and I am sure much mistreatment happens as a result.
So my answer is that it can make you happier, if children is what you really want. However you need to be in the right place and not use the kids for happiness.
