So where do Canada sit now and who has taken the crown? Well it couldn’t be harder than the proud Canadian web user to swallow, the crown was stolen by their buddies down below! That’s right, the US of A took it from them but no worries Canadians still sit in 2nd place and could be itching to take their former glory back come next year!
So where is this info coming from? It’s all from a ComScore survey on digital trends. Here are a few of the stats taken from an article on TheRecord.com.
“The average Canadian internet user was online for 41.3 hours per month in the fourth quarter of last year, down from 45.3 hours in 2011 and 43.5 hours in 2010.”

US users “logged 43 hours online each month.”
“Canadian web surfers were first when it came to the average number of web pages viewed each month at 3,731, an average of more than 120 per day.”
“Online shopping was up by 10 per cent in sales in 2012, up to $22 million, and up 17 per cent in transactions, topping 105,000, comScore reported.
Visits to retail websites were up by nine per cent, with users surfing to Amazon, Apple, Kijiji, Best Buy and Walmart the most.”
Video viewing was also said to be highest in the UK!
I must admit I was surprised the USA doesn’t win outright in front of everyone else but I guess it’s regions of good weather bring the stats down! Canada has much longer widespread winters and I would not be surprised if that helps the numbers be as high and close to USA as they are!
Do you spend over 40 hours a month online? I know I spend way more than that!
