So Mr Affleck had a beard for his movie Argo. Some people liked it, some thought it was weird to see his chiselled chin hidden behind the bush. Personally it suited the character pretty well and suited his glum sad look that he spent most of the movie perfecting.
Affleck seemed to be keeping in character for the whole award season following the movie and managed to pick up a screen Actors Guild trophy and a Golden Globe and a BAFTA award. The beard was kept as a good luck charm Affleck said.

So pretty much as soon as the Oscar was won he set about removing the fluff. Egged on by buddy and fellow occasional beard wearer George Clooney and non bear wearer wife Garner he shaved it off according to msn.
