Kane Williamson steers New Zealand to six-wicket win

Kane Williamson steers New Zealand to six-wicket win”

New Zealand cruised to a 6-wicket win over Bangladesh in the first T20I of their three-match series at the McLean Park in Napier on Tuesday.

The pair of Colin de Grandhomme and Kane Williamson who finished not out on 41 and 73 respectively took the game away from Bangladesh in the final overs with de Grandhomme's power hitting the difference at the end.

De Grandhomme made an 81-run partnership with his skipper Kane Williamson, as NZ defeated Bangladesh by six-wickets in their first T20 match in Napier. Bangladesh suffered a batting collapse in the first-ever T20I at McLean Park in Napier, with debutant Ferguson claiming two wickets off his first two balls in worldwide cricket. New Zealand surpassed the target in 18 overs with 6 wickets in hand.

Matt Henry struck early for the Kiwis, removing Imrul Kayes without scoring midway through the second over after he slogged across the line and flipped a thick outside edge to keeper Luke Ronchi. Mustafizur Rahman got Colin Munro caught by wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan for a duck in the following over.

Tom Bruce made his mark on debut when he took a catch to dismiss Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal for 11 off his Central Districts teammate and fellow debutant Ben Wheeler.

Pochettino hopes win will spur team on
We have put together a good run now. "It seemed from the bench it was two players fighting for the ball", Puel said. That month Spurs played five games, scored six goals, four of which came from Kane.

After scores of zero, one and three in the last three ODIs against the Black Caps, Mahmudullah rediscovered form with a crucial 47-ball 52 which included three fours and three sixes.

Ferguson, who made his one-day worldwide debut for New Zealand earlier this season, made his mark in his T20 debut when he dismissed Sabbir Rahman and Soumya Sarkar with the first two balls of his opening over.

"I think we were 15 to 20 runs short and we lost too many wickets early on", Masrafe said.

Santner picked up his first wicket midway through the 16th over when Hossain holed out to Anderson at cover point, then de Grandhomme removed skipper Mashrafe Mortaza for just one to leave Bangladesh 7-114.

But Bangladesh were put the sword early on by debutant pacers Lockie Ferguson (3-32) and Ben Wheeler (2-22) who reduced them to 30 for 4.
