Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs T.B. Jayachandra today lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that demonetisation was not done in the interest of the country but for political gain and keeping in view the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and other States.

Asks banks to raise the credit limit to 25 percent from 20 percent of turnover for small businesses.

PM says government will also bear 60 days interest on select farm loans. Separately, 3 per cent interest will be waived on loans of upto '2 lakh for the construction or expansion of a rural house.

Government to stand guarantee for loans up to Rs 2 crore from current Rs 1 crore, to Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

In the next 3 months, 3 crore Kisan credit cards will be converted to RuPay cards which will enable them to buy/sell directly through the card and there will be no need to rush to banks. They will help the poor and boost economy, BJP spokesperson G.V.L. Narsimha Rao said.

PM Modi also talked about the new scheme- Lucky Grahak Yojana, which enables citizens to win lucky drwas if they make online transactions.

Senior citizens will receive a fixed interest rate of 8 per cent for a period of 10 years on deposits up to 750,000 rupees.
