Dash Cam Video Shows Tesla Predicting Crash Moments Before It Happens”

New footage went viral where the said design saw a two-car crash prior to it happening, thanks to the autopilot technology.

Auto manufacturer Tesla shows how reliable its autopilot system really is. Driving a Tesla Model X - which is the Tesla's version of a compact SUV with "bat wings" - Frank van Hoesel avoided the risky crash via his Tesla's Autopilot 8.0 radar feature, reports Engadget.

Tesla's autopilot features have been rolled out this year and will see significant upgrades in 2017, luckily for this driver.

According to Hans Noordsij, the Twitter user and electric vehicle enthusiast who shared the video Tuesday, no one involved in the crash suffered serious injury. Following investigation, however, Tesla later told members of the Senate Commerce Committee that the problem was not related to Autopilot, but rather to the car's automatic braking system.

Scarlett Johansson is 2016's highest earning actress
As per the Forbes list , Scarlett earned in the year of 2016 a mind-boggling $1.2 billion at the global box office. The actor topped the list after her films raked in $1.2bn (£977m) globally over the past 12 months.

In September, Tesla released version 8.0 of its software for cars with the first generation Autopilot hardware. This came after a follower asked Musk on social media whether there existed a future possibility of unveiling a new Roadster. Without any manual assistance, the vehicle began slowing down as he witnessed an SUV in front of him hit the center divider and flip several times. Additionally, there will be further development of current products such as the Autopilot, Model X, and Model S.

The radar was originally introduced to Tesla vehicles in October 2014 as a supplementary sensor to the existing camera and image processing system. The autopilot system was successful in scanning two cars in front of the Model X and was also able to actively react to avoid being included in the collision.

Indeed, what's particularly fascinating about the video is that the Model X's software senses trouble ahead before anything of note becomes visible from the driver's perspective. Tesla put more reliance on radar, rather than other sensors, and gave the auto the ability to bounce radar waves underneath the vehicle in front of it.

Noordsij noted that the Autopilot started braking before he could apply the brakes himself.
